Preparing Your Pup for Camp
To help ensure a smooth and enjoyable camp experience for your furry friend, please follow these guidelines:
Packing Essentials:
By ensuring we have the most up to date care instructions allows us to provide the best care possible.
Food:
How to pack: To simplify the packing process, you can send your pup's food in an unopened bag. Alternatively, you can portion it into unbreakable containers. If you choose to portion the food, please send extra to accommodate any adjustments we may need to make based on their activity levels.
Quantity: Pack enough food to cover their stay, with a minimum of 30% extra to fuel their adventures at camp. It is also a good idea to pack a day or two extra in case your travel gets delayed.
Feeding Instructions: Please provide detailed feeding instructions, including portion sizes and feeding times. You can update this information in your pup's profile on our portal or email us directly.
Medications/Supplements:
Pack medications & supplements separately with clear instructions for each include the dosage, timing, and purpose of each medication. It is also a good idea to pack a day or two extra in case your travel gets delayed.
What to Leave at Home:
Bedding and Blankets: We provide cozy bedding.
Bowls and Measuring Cups: We've got those covered.
Toys: To help your pup focus on their new adventures, please avoid sending toys or other personal items.
Sweaters, Coats, and Booties: We'll keep them warm and dry with coats we provide.
Collars and Leashes: We'll provide these during their stay.
Additional tips:
Preventatives: Make sure your pup is current on their flea, tick, and heart worm preventatives
For pups with long hair: consider a trim before camp to prevent matting and discomfort. This will ensure they stay comfortable and healthy during their stay.
Vaccinations: To ensure the health and safety of all our campers, please provide us with up-to-date vaccination records for Canine Influenza, Bordetella, DHPP, and Rabies at least 72 hours before scheduled arrival.
Pre-Van Prep:
Potty Break: A quick walk before the van ride can help prevent accidents on the ride.
Positive Send-Off: A calm and reassuring goodbye helps make the transition smoother.
Post-Camp Care:
Potty Break: Be ready for a post-van ride potty break.
Feeding: To help mitigate carsickness and accidents, the pups do not get fed prior to their van ride.
Rest Time: Your pup will probably be tired after their adventure. It can take a couple days before they return to their normal selves.
Monitor for Any Changes: Keep an eye on your pup's behavior and appetite. If you notice any significant changes, consult your veterinarian.
If Something's Missing:
Don't worry! If you notice something missing upon your pup's return, please let us know. We'll do our best to locate the missing item.
